Welcome Week Activities Draw Large Crowds
For the first week of the fall 2018 semester Vaugh College’s student affairs office implemented a series of social events to help assist students’ transition into their new academic environment. The four events and kicked off with the annual welcome assembly on Tuesday, September 4.
During common hour on Wednesday students filled the main lobby to take a break from classes by playing larger versions of the games of jenga, checkers, kerplunk and connect four. Large groups of students and staff cheered for players during energetic rounds filled with fun competition.
On Thursday, 10below, the home of the original viral rolled ice cream, prepared servings of Oreo and fruity pebbles cereal flavored ice cream. Attendees enjoyed the delectable break from the heat, especially with temperatures outside reaching 95 degrees.
The conclusion of the week featured a movie night with a screening of Avengers: Infinity War outside the residence hall, with free popcorn available to Vaughn attendees on Friday night.
