Oscar Vasquez, a freshman forward at Vaughn College, was named Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. The honor follows Vasquez’s two-goal performance in the Warrior’s 4-0 victory over St. Joseph’s of Brooklyn on Sunday (Oct. 9).

Scoring the first goal against St. Joseph’s, Vasquez helped edge Vaughn one step closer to a spot in the HVMAC playoffs. The win kept Vaughn, 2-3 this season, in fourth place in the HVMAC, with Sarah Lawrence College tied for fifth place at 1-3.

Vaughn will play Sarah Lawrence in a critical game Saturday (Oct. 15) at 2 p.m. at Queens College. The outcome will shape conference standings and playoff seeding.
