Next week, Vaughn College professor Dr. Hossein Rahemi will present a paper titled “Enhancing Students’ Hands-on Experience and Communication Capabilities through Mechatronics Engineering Program” at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Middle Atlantic Section Conference at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa.

Dr. Rahemi’s paper focuses on the development process of senior-level mechatronics courses, which cover comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electronic, computer and control engineering. In the paper, various approaches to enhancing students’ communication and collaboration capabilities based on previously learned theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience is also explored.

The AMEE conference titled “Engineering Education for the Next Decade” will be held on Oct. 28-29. It is a gathering of engineering scholars, educators, and researchers who present engineering research and innovations.

Dr. Rahemi, whom received his PhD from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va. is a recognized authority in the fields of vibration, fracture mechanics and reliability analysis.
