Vaughn College Students to Present Papers at International Conference
Vaughn College students Brian Linhares, Marlon Medford and Malik Hocine will present their papers at the 10th Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI) Conference in Panama City, Panama next month.
Linhares and Medford’s paper, titled “Mechatronics in Aerial Surveilance and Reconnaissance” focuses on creating a remote control device that provides better visual reconnaissance for police and military ground forces than the remote control planes and helicopters in current use. Hocine’s paper, titled “Effect of Curvature on the Natural Frequency of a Riveted Plate” focuses on finding the natural frequency of a curved rectangular plate using a numerical approach called CATIA V5. Both papers were selected for publication in the LACCEI conference proceedings.
In addition to the student paper competition, the five-day conference, beginning Monday, July 23, will host multiple events including an engineering program accreditation workshop and student cultural events.
