Vaughn Begins Summer Programs for High School and International Students
Vaughn College is hosting a number of summer programs geared towards high school and international students. The STEP and Upward Bound summer programs introduce pre-college students to the college experience by offering introductory courses and seminars. The Upward Bound program also features college tours. More than 100 students are expected to participate in the programs this summer.
In addition, the College is hosting 52 college students from Turkey from May 23 to August 23 for an English as a Second Language (ESL) program. The students live on campus in the residence hall, and take courses on Vaughn’s main campus. Turkish students have previously attended Vaughn in the summer for the College’s cultural immersion program, but this is the first summer program offering the students college credit. This is the second group of students to attend the ESL program; a group of 48 students attended Vaughn during the spring semester.
