Students and Faculty Presented Research Projects at 2019 ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition
Vaughn faculty and students attended the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) 126th annual conference in Tampa, Florida in June.
Students Niki Taheri ’19 and Atif Saeed ‘19 presented their project paper “Early Learning Braille Block Language System,” during the manufacturing session. Their presentation detailed the development process of a braille block language system for people who are blind or visually impaired.
Vaughn faculty member Ryan Dan Tang ‘17 presented his Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Robotics project “A STEM Training Program to Improve High School VEX Competition Outcomes,” which detailed the topics, syllabus, and methods to prepare and engage middle school and high school students with the hands-on VEX robotics competition. The project is focused on preparing students for the VEX robotics competition through working with experienced VEX Competition team members after-school and weekends during the school year.
“The engineering and technology department enjoys seeing student achievement in the conferences,” said Dr. Hossein Rahemi, engineering and technology chair.
