Student Aid Funding Advocated by Vaughn Students in Albany
Students and faculty traveled to Albany for the annual New York Student Aid Alliance Advocacy Day uniting hundreds of college students at the New York State Capital building to advocate for continued funding of student aid programs like the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP). Students spoke with legislators and staff about the impact student aid has had on students attending Vaughn College, while educating the legislators about the extensive programs the College offers and the diversity of students that make up its enrollment. The trip was organized by Lauren Cajade, executive director of Vaughn’s opportunity programs, who guided students throughout the trip.
New York Student Aid Alliance supports funding vital student aid programs for students in New York State.
