Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Vaughn Chapter Receives Award
On Thursday, March 1 to Saturday March 3 the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) hosted their regional conference (RLDC) in Manhattan and Vaughn’s student chapter attended. The conference invites all chapters from Virginia to Maine, including Puerto Rico, to be a part of the leadership-focused workshops which are hosted by different companies and organizations. Like most regional conferences, RLDC also hosts a small career fair on the last day for students and professionals who are actively seeking job, internships or co-ops.
SHPE Vaughn College student chapter trained and prepared 15 members to attend the conference. The members networked and made valuable connections that would help further the chapter’s accomplishments.
On Friday, March 2 the regional meeting was hosted in the afternoon with leaders from all of the present chapters. In the meeting, Vaughn College was recognized for the hard work and dedication that the chapter demonstrated during Fall 2017 and throughout the national reporting program. The Vaughn College student chapter received the Blue-Chip Award, which recognizes the chapter for their hard work and dedication.
