Second Open House of Fall Season Welcomes Students from Near and Far
Vaughn College’s second fall open house session welcomed prospective students and their families from as far as Rochester, New York, Maryland and Vermont on Saturday, November 16. Students who visited heard about Vaughn’s futureproof degree programs in engineering, technology, management and aviation.
The session began in the William R. DeCota Hangar with remarks from Vaughn College President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo and Associate Vice President of Enrollment Celso Alvarez. The attendees were introduced to the College’s various academic programs, the student’s on-campus experience and further highlighted Vaughn’s Futureproof Guarantee.
The groups toured the campus, residence hall and library in addition to exploring Vaughn’s flight and air traffic control simulator labs. In addition, students and their families were given comprehensive presentations by faculty on the various degree programs the College offers.
“I’m really interested in the aviation program. The presentation was a great representation of what we can expect as students at Vaughn,” said Eduardo Torrado of Rochester, NY. “It really showed how prepared Vaughn students are for careers after college.”
“We came in last night from Rochester, it’s our first ever college fair,” expressed Eduardo’s mother Aracelis. “It’s been so organized and informative. We truly had a great experience.”
Student representatives from professional organizations, clubs, and athletic teams at the College were available to meet with attendees and discuss campus life from the current student’s perspective.
Prospective students and their families were invited to meet with admissions and financial aid representatives to help them to complete or better understand the application process. Furthermore, students who applied at the open house were able to have their application fee waived.
