Scholars Recognized at the Class of 2018 Honors Convocation Ceremony
Vaughn College recognized students’ achievements at the annual Honors Convocation Ceremony on Wednesday, May 9. The ceremony began with opening remarks from Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Paul LaVergne, and special greetings from President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo. Aviation maintenance major Matthew Piciocco was the student speaker and he left his peers with a speech on reaching for your goals and not quitting until it’s achieved.
Awards were given to students who have shown excellence in engineering, technology, aviation, and management and with a grade point average of 3.50 or above, or who showed exceptional leadership and athletic abilities.
The ceremony closed with students graduating with high honors receiving their cords for cum laude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude status. Cords were also given to graduating veteran students.
