Robotics Afterschool Community Program Visits Vaughn
In early August, students from Community Youth Care Services afterschool robotics program visited Vaughn College where members of the Robotics Club and the Upward Bound program showcased the College’s current robotic projects.
The goal of the visit was to expose the middle, and high school students to advanced robotics and enhance their current understanding of the topic. The day at Vaughn included a tour of the College featuring a visit to the hangar, the flight simulator room and the tower where students could watch planes take off and land at LaGuardia Airport.
“It was great to see the students from the afterschool program working hand-in-hand with Vaughn teachers and students,” said Phillip Meade, director of career services at Vaughn. “We were especially excited to be able to donate a computer brain to the program to run the school’s robotics projects.”
