President DeVivo Honored for Influence to the Queens Area
Influential leaders working in Queens assembled in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park on Wednesday, October 3 for The Queens Courier’s Inaugural Power List awards ceremony which honors top movers and shakers in business, the arts, education and politics.
The power list committee selected Vaughn College President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo as one of Queens’ most influential people and celebrated her contribution to the education community in Queens. DeVivo credited her staying power as president to the College’s “incredible students.”
The Queens Power List event is a by-product of the Long Island Power List, which has been honoring individuals from Long Island for the past 15 years. Other honorees for the Queens Power List included Rick Cotton, executive director of The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey; Phillip Eng, president of the Long Island Rail Road and Seth Bornstein, executive director of the Queens Economic Development Corporation including 40 other honorees.
