College’s Strategic Planning Initiative Moves Forward
Vaughn College took the next step in its 2011-2012 strategic planning initiative on Friday (April 13) with a meeting that brought together representatives of the seven committees charged with analyzing the key issues expected to be faced by the College over the next decade.
Members of the human resources, mission, infrastructure, branding, finance, curriculum and student experience committees gathered for a three-hour session focused on finding common ground and refining recommendations. The strategic planning process began in November and will conclude with recommendations to the Board of Trustees in May.
“There are so many overlapping areas between the groups; the purpose of this session is to get you to talk to the other work groups,” said Brendan Leonard, senior vice president of the consulting firm Stevens Strategy, which is managing the process for Vaughn.
Among the ideas presented were potential development of new revenue streams; a rethinking of the College’s marketing programs; cultivation of new academic and professional partnerships; a re-evaluation of infrastructure needs; new curriculum ideas and more.
The College last did strategic planning in 2001-2002. See the strategic planning calendar, committee priorities and other issues at the Vaughn portal, linked here. Once logged in, see Vaughn Strategic Plan under Announcements.
