College’s Aviation Outreach Plan Gains Attention
Vaughn College’s newly announced aviation outreach initiative has attracted the attention of the aviation press. Articles featuring the relationship between the College and Redbird Flight Simulations of San Marcos, Texas have appeared in several prominent online publications, including the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) website and the Aero News Network.
Under the partnership, announced Sept. 15, students will undergo ground training at Vaughn’s campus. After passing Federal Aviation Administration Knowledge Tests, they will travel to Redbird’s soon-to-open facility to complete actual flight training. The College expects to graduate its first class this spring.
The NBAA notes: “Many ideas have been tried to stem the tide of student pilots who drop out. Vaughn College has a plan of its own.”
Aero News says “the FAA Part 141 program is designed to improve student pilot proficiency and safety while increasing student retention and graduation rates.”
