Campus Renovation Update: Phase II Begins
As we gear up for another exciting school year, we wanted to provide you with an update about some important activities taking place around campus.
As you know, Vaughn College is in the midst of a multimillion-dollar campus renovation designed to better meet the needs of its growing, diverse and dedicated student population. The plan includes redesigned classrooms and labs, and a new roof, windows, exterior, as well as a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
The first phase of the project is nearly complete and will provide a new glass enclosed entrance on 23rd Avenue and the restoration of our $1 million flight simulator lab.
“We are extremely pleased that the renovations we’ve undertaken are moving along so swiftly and we are excited to enter the next phase of the project,” said Jerima DeWese, assistant vice president and dean for student affairs. “While you may experience some minor disruptions, we know you will be pleased with the end result — a state-of-the-art campus that provides an environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.”
When you return next week, you will see new entrances to the college and some classroom changes. The main hallway between the library and the flight simulator lab will be closed and access between the west end and the east end of the building will only be available by walking outside.
Also, the library and faculty office area has moved to a renovated location just down 23rd Avenue. The new library space has a full complement of computers for student use and offers the same level of superior support staff to assist you. Vaughn will provide a shuttle between the two locations.
