Federal Aviation Administration Shares New Information with Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Institutions

Yesterday afternoon, the 36 colleges and universities that are considered part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Institutes were able to listen to a teleconference hosted by Joseph Teixeira, Vice President for Safety and Technical Training, Air Traffic Organization at the FAA.  In that teleconference he, and his staff, shared several key points:

·  A general public announcement is tentatively scheduled for Monday, February 10 and will be open for 10 days. To learn more about the criteria and to apply we were told to direct students to visit usajobs.gov.

·  Any student who had previously applied to the FAA for a position will receive a letter from the FAA directing them as to next steps. The FAA has indicated that if you have not received a tentative offer letter then you will need to reapply.

· None of the 36 Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Institutes will be asked to submit to the FAA new student information or recommendations of students upon graduation if they had met all of the necessary qualifications.
