Vaughn hosted its annual alumni and employer awards reception at the Atrium at LaGuardia Terminal B. Students, staff, faculty, employers and alumni gathered to toast the New Year and celebrate the launch of the spring 2025 semester. The reception gave students the opportunity to network with alumni and employers to understand their career paths, learn about employment opportunities in various fields and hear about the impact Vaughn has on their success.

The evening began with welcome remarks by Chaundra Daniels, director of career services, thanking employers for their support, followed by Vaughn President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo and Stephen DeSalvo, vice president of institutional advancement and engagement, who highlighted the importance of alumni remaining connected to the institution and participating in Vaughn’s alumni ambassador’s council.

Alumnus and former Board of Trustees Chair Ken Stauffer ‘83, founder of the Vaughn Alumni Ambassadors Council Otha Ward ‘19 and mechatronic engineering student Matthan Mbanefo ‘26 each won awards dedicated to their contribution to the Vaughn College community. While Delta Airlines, JFK-IAT and Republic Airlines received awards for demonstrating an overall commitment to the students at Vaughn College through internship programs, alumni hiring, financial contributions to a specific club or organization or to the student experience fund.
