In late August, Vaughn students traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana to visit the FedEx Aviation Maintenance Facility and train on various aircraft maintenance mock-ups, including electrical troubleshooting, fuel tank entries, component replacements and more. Students used this time to begin preparation for the 2024 Aerospace Maintenance Competition (AMC) which is scheduled to take place in Chicago from April 9-11. FedEx trainers complemented Vaughn students on their high energy level seen and the expertise Vaughn students’ possess. To further motivate students to earn their airframe and powerplant certificates, FedEx employees presented Vaughn students with a Snap-On Socket set and an ATA (Air Transportation Association of America) Chart Pocket Guide.
