Vaughn’s Rover Club Participates in First NASA Competition
Vaughn’s Rover Club travelled to Huntsville, Alabama to participate in NASA’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) for the first time in team history. In addition to competing, students networked with aerospace and system engineers, rocket scientists, aspiring astronauts and fellow HERC teams.
The primary objective of HERC is for students to design, develop, build and test human-powered rovers capable of traversing challenging terrain for completion of various mission tasks.
The Rover Club offers a diverse range of activities to help students learn new skills and expand their knowledge. Students can learn about design and CAD modeling and manufacturing. Students also learned how to work effectively in a team, develop project management skills and enhance their critical-thinking abilities.
