Vaughn Students attend LACCEI 2015 International Conference
On July 28, seven Vaughn College students and engineering faculty, attended the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI) 2015 conference in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The students will participate in a technical paper session and poster session with hopes of taking home the first place prize. The first five students will be Damian Gaona who will present “Improving the Cooling Process for Electronics Using Synthetic Jets,” Wasif Iqbal and Kazi Ahmed will present “Smart Cross” and Nicholas Kumia and Christopher Chaiah will deliver “Analysis of Impulsive Natural Phenomena through Finite Difference Methods.”
Two student posters were also selected to be displayed during the poster portion of the competition conference in addition to the three student papers. The posters will include “Damping and Natural Frequency of Beams” by Mohammed Ayoub, Sanghoon Han and Cannon Patel and “Tensile Machine User Interface” by Zechariah Gajadhar, Anjali Dhobale and Nicholas Cuneo.
Also attending the conference are Vaughn faculty members Dr. Hossein Rahemi, engineering department chair, Khalid Mouaouya, associate professor of engineering and technology and Yougashwar Budhoo, engineering and technology professor. The four-day event will feature various workshops including an energy symposium session and a networking city tour.
