To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope, the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum is currently showcasing an exhibit dedicated to the history of the telescope and its scientific achievements.  On Saturday, September 26 the alumni association and the engineering and technology department held a special reception to welcome Jade Kukula ‘07, as she shared her experiences while working on the project.

Well attended by alumni, faculty and President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo, Kukula spoke about her role working on the Hubble Space Telescope.  She advised students about career choices and the benefits of her education.

“I absolutely love my job,” said Jade. “I couldn’t have achieved so much without the help and guidance of my professors, counselors and administrators at Vaughn College.”

Jade landed her dream job, that of satellite systems engineer for Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Services. She is currently working as a flight controller, sub-systems engineer, and mission engineer for the Hubble Space Telescope.
